Thinking of starting a newsletter? Read this

Earlier this year, I decided I want to get back into 1:1 coaching.

But I hadn’t worked 1:1 with anyone in a while.

So here’s what I did:

I sent out an email sharing a recent client win + included a soft pitch at the end for 1:1.

The results:

- 10 people replied to say they were interested
- I had a chat via email with 4 of them
- 2 of those 4 signed up

No sales calls.

No lengthy back-and-forths.

I didn’t even have a Google doc to clearly explain the offer.

(something I am working on lol)

And keep in mind - I had less than 1,000 subscribers at the time.

That’s the power of having an email newsletter.

It’s a private and more intimate medium.

And if you know how to execute on it, your emails pre-sell people on working with you.

So when the time comes for you to make an offer…

It’s less like “selling” and more like order taking.

Even with a tiny list like mine.

Now, of course there’s much more to using a newsletter to get clients than I can fit in this email…

But if you’re thinking about starting your own…

I strongly recommend you do it on Beehiiv.

It’s the platform I’ve been using to manage my two newsletters for the past 18 months…

And I’m convinced it’s the best one out there for creators.

Some of my favorite features include:

  • Inbound ad opportunities (so you can monetize without doing outreach)

  • Easy website hosting (so each edition is automatically posted on your blog for SEO)

  • In-depth audience analytics (so you can track performance across different traffic sources)

  • Plus their customer support is amazing

That’s just the tip of the iceberg.

But obviously you’ve gotta do your own research and decide which platform is best for you.

However, if you do decide to join me on Beehiiv…

I’ve put together a special offer for anyone who signs up using my affiliate link.

This includes a 30-min newsletter consult with me ($250 value).
