My “secret weapon” for getting 1:1 coaching clients

I had a kickoff call with a new 1:1 coaching client this week.
Asked him how he found me.
(He couldn’t remember whether it was LinkedIn or Twitter.)
But as we kept chatting…
He said something I thought was eye-opening:
- “Personally, I think we just jive”
- “I noticed you reference a lot of health things”
- “I’m a big health nut too”
Meaning it wasn’t just that I had the skills & experience to coach him…
It was our shared (and totally unrelated) interest that helped put me over the top.
The lesson:
People buy coaches, not coaching.
Sharing different aspects of your personality creates more potential connection points.
And the more connection points exist between you & your audience…
The more likely they are to do business with you.
Your personality is your secret weapon.
