Results from my 2023 social media sabbatical

I took most of December off from social media.

Why?

One word:

Assets.

I set growth aside temporarily…

So I could spend the month building out a handful of assets:

- Email mini-course to indoctrinate people into my new model
- Sales page for 15-Minute Emails That Sell
- Thank You Page offer for new opt-ins

I find carving out dedicated time blocks makes stuff like this easier to do.

And now, these assets give me leverage.

I only had to pay the time cost once…

But I’ll reap the rewards for months and maybe even years to come.

Another “asset class” I’m thinking about is LinkedIn articles.

You see, in researching topics for my new email mini-course… 

I was stunned at how little quality blog content there was to be found on some of the copywriting sub-topics I was searching for.

The content landscape was drier than the Mojave Desert.

Yet because of LinkedIn’s towering domain reputation…

Articles published by random people often rank on Page 1 of Google.

So my plan is to write & publish 1 article per month in 2024.

It’s another way to create leverage.

My hope is that these articles will rank for the keywords I’m targeting and drive traffic for me without needing any ongoing promotion.

Alex Hormozi likes to say:

“Content doesn’t compound, but your audience does.”

And that’s true.

But…

Don’t let it blind you to the benefits of building content & copy assets that create leverage.

Sometimes it’s worth taking a break from growth to do that.

On that note, another thing worth prioritizing is:

Cultivating new skills.

Take email copywriting, for example.

Being able to write personality-driven emails that sell creates leverage too.

The time it takes to write a single email doesn’t change…

But the ROI scales as your email list grows.

And as AI-generated content repopulates the internet…

I’m more bullish than ever on taking a personality-driven approach to build an engaged audience & monetize your expertise.
