one more curious takeaway from my recent launch

Like it or not:
Attention is the starting point for any piece of content or copy in 2024.
As a publisher, you’re battling with a constant barrage of bids on your audience’s mindshare…
Which means:
If you can’t grab attention & hold it…
You’ll never be able to monetize.
This is one of the reasons why story-driven newsletters work so well…
Because stories are the oldest form of entertainment and knowledge transfer there is.
We’re hardwired to pay attention to them and learn from them.
Which explains another curious takeaway:
42% of the buyers in my recent launch have been on my list for 6+ months.
Now, you can argue that long-time subscribers are likely to be overrepresented in any segment of customers…
(And I’d be inclined to agree)
But nonetheless:
I know plenty of publishers who can’t keep anyone engaged that long.
Let alone persuade them to buy something that long after subscribing in the first place.
And as much as I enjoy giving myself a shoutout…
The truth is:
I ascribe this finding to the story-driven format of my newsletter…
Much more so than my writing chops.
Because I’ve seen it in action time and time again.
Which is great news for you…
Because it means you don’t have to write like me (or any publisher, for that matter) to produce similar results for yourself.
All you need to do is copy the story-driven format.
This stuff just works ;)
Anyway, that’s all I got for ya today.
Happy Friday! ✌️
