AI continues seeping into every facet of my life like leftover protein powder on the kitchen counter.
My latest experiment?
Using ChatGPT to count calories.
You see, I’ve always found calorie counting to be the most effective way for me to drop a few pounds…
Because what gets measured, gets managed.
But the process has always been a pain in the ass.
It means busting out a food scale…
Constantly checking labels…
And painstakingly logging it all in a dedicated app like MyFitnessPal.
Miss me with that 🙅♂️
Then, the other day, it hit me:
“I bet ChatGPT can do this.”
Sure enough, it can.
I just take a picture of my food and ask it to guesstimate the total calorie count.
Then log it for the given day.
It’s been pretty darn accurate so far.
Plus as time goes on, I’ll be able to get it to visualize the data in different ways to look at my daily deficits, how my weight tracks against that, etc etc.
I’m loving it so far lol
Now, I realize I probably sound like a full-on AI nerd…
And let’s be honest:
Guilty as charged, Your Honor.
But this most recent use case illustrates a timeless aspect of creativity:
The more you engage with something…
Be it a topic, tool, problem, offer or something else altogether…
… the more new ideas you come up with for it.
You don’t have to press ChatGPT into service as your nutrition coach, of course…
Yet if you still haven’t implemented AI into your writing process somehow…
I encourage you to explore with an open mind.
Things are moving fast…
And I predict the gap is soon going to widen between those who’ve learned to harness AI and those who have not.
Money loves speed.
Which is perhaps the most salient argument to use AI…
Because the results of being able to move faster than your competitors will compound over time.
