how this 7-figure entrepreneur bungled her newsletter

True story:

A client I write ads for recently had a few ads go viral on Facebook and Instagram.

People started sharing these ads like CRAZY…

Which allowed us to spend $882,283 over 60 days at a 1.5X return.

In the end, we collected over 1.2 million in cash.

Not too shabby, amirite? ;)

What’s more:

The icing on the cake here was…

In addition to all the buyers we generated, we also added another 41,000 new leads to her email list.

(aka people who didn’t buy right away)

A windfall that would be worth millions MORE to any savvy entrepreneur.

But guess what?

The following month…

This client had just 6 measly email sales from her list of over 140,000 subscribers.

SIX SALES!

My jaw hit the floor when I heard this.

(I assumed a link must be broken or something lol. It’s such an infinitesimally small number that it would almost have to be done on purpose.)

Alas, when I dug into the emails she was sending…

I discovered the culprit for her embarrassing sales number:

Turns out, she was bombarding these leads with value-driven emails that focused on “hard-teaching.”

In other words…

She was giving them lots of ‘how-to’ info in the hopes it would trigger reciprocity…

And motivate these folks to buy her high-ticket course.

Spoiler alert:

It didn’t work.

It’s kinda like giving someone 27 free samples of cheese at Costo… then hoping they’ll buy a brick of it.

When your appetite is sated, you don’t typically buy more.

Anyway, moral of the story is:

Delivering value doesn’t create buyers.

Especially now in the age of AI.

If you want to sell high-ticket offers to your list…

You need to focus on shifting their beliefs instead.

Because it’s not a lack of info holding them back…

It’s a lack of BELIEF.
