harder, slower, longer

Quick update:
I’m in the midst of re-recording 15-Minute Emails That Sell, my advanced course on how to write story-driven email newsletters that sell.
However, as I was mapping it all out…
I decided I wanted to create a crash course version at the same time.
Which I’m really excited about.
It’s gonna be a great primer for anyone who’s a bit less familiar with copywriting and direct response marketing.
Yet that decision’s had a (slightly) unpleasant consequence:
What began as a medium-sized project has quickly become an XL undertaking.
It means more:
- Slides
- Modules
- Examples
- Sales pages
- Tech automations
- Etc etc
Now, don’t get me wrong:
I love working on my newsletter business as much as I love watching The Wire and eating mint chocolate chip ice cream.
(plus I can justify doing it a lot more often ;)
But it’s also been a good reminder that:
The big stuff always moves slower, takes longer, and feels harder than you think it’s going to.
Without fail.
And that’s okay.
Because it’s not just the destination you’re meant to enjoy.
It’s the journey too.
There will come a time when the big external outcome you’re dreaming about right now…
Whether it’s launching your email newsletter…
Hitting your first 10,000 subscribers…
Or earning enough from it to finally quit your 9 to 5…
… feels like yesterday’s news.
Despite all the hard work and sleepless nights it took.
So try to remember what it feels right now like before the outcome is decided.
This is the fun part.
