How to become a “word of mouth” engineer

I was just in Chicago for St Paddy’s Day.

And in case you didn’t know:

They dye the Chicago River green to celebrate it every year.

Like, radioactive green.

It’s quite a site.

And people there go crazy for it.

The streets are packed.

Every bar has a lineup around the corner.

And some people have already overdone it by 11 AM 🤮😂

Anyway, surprise surprise - my trip was a big hit on my Instagram stories.

I got a ton of comments & reactions.

People were fascinated by it.

Go figure, right?

So even though I’d had a few wobbly pops…

It wasn’t long before my thoughts drifted to how this applied to running a coaching & consulting business.

And I kept coming back to one word:

Experience.

As in…

How can I turn buying something into an experience for my clients?

Whether it’s a high-touch onboarding process…

A surprise swag bag via snail mail…

Or something else altogether.

This is something I’m reflecting on as I gear up to relaunch my coaching program…

Because if you can pull it off…

What’s normally mundane instantly becomes something worth telling people about.

A true “experience” that gets shared and draws attention from others.

Do you do anything to engineer word-of-mouth?

Hit reply and let me know.
