3 uncomfortable ways I’m expanding in 2024

Growth and expansion are not the same thing.
- Growth = going deeper
- Expansion = going wider
Neither is easy.
But expansion has always felt much more uncomfortable to me.
Especially right now.
Here’s why:
===
1) I just hired my first assistant
She’s going to help me syndicate my content across social media and blow up my personal brand.
I’m really excited about it.
But this means:
- Creating lots of SOPs
- Systematizing my workflows
- Learning how to delegate effectively
Aka a lot of stuff I’m not very good at or have never done.
2) I’m launching a 1:1 coaching program
Last week, this was just an idea.
One post and one email later, I’ve had 5 people reach out and 1 who’s already signed on the dotted line.
(and without getting on any sales calls - which is pretty cool ;)
Except now, I have to deliver.
3) I’m writing a book
I read a book while on vacation in Mexico last year called Write Useful Books.
It’s on how to write nonfiction.
Now, I’ve always known I want to write fiction..
But that reading book made me want to write nonfiction.
Only problem was, I had no idea what the topic would be.
Clearly, it’s been marinating in the background of my subconscious mind though…
Because the other day, an idea struck me like a lightning bolt.
(something that doesn’t happen often)
So I’ve started mapping it out.
And my plan now is to write it & publish it by the end of the year.

All this stuff feels scary and uncomfortable in its own way.
But instead of shying away…
I’m embracing a concept I learned from Jocko Willink:
“Forward center of mass.”
This means deliberately leaning in.
Facing new challenges & obstacles head on.
Not allowing myself to become flat-footed or get caught on my heels.
Ultimately, these are the only 3 ways you can face anything.
And when it comes to expansion…
I firmly believe “forward center of mass” is the only recipe for success there is.

P.S:
I’ve still got 2 spots left for 1:1 coaching.
